REDEVELOPING OUR BUILDING

Please would you help our community by following this link and making some positive comments? https://yourfundsurreyproposals.commonplace.is/en-GB/contributions/proposal/st-martins-community-hub

I can assure you it will only take a few moments, and your positive contribution will make a world of difference to our community.

St Martin's Community Hub is a project that aims to transform the existing church hall in Old Dean into a vibrant and welcoming centre for the community. It’s a response to the long term needs of local residents. It will be a beacon of hope for everyone. The project will redevelop and extend the current building, creating:

  • A welcoming, accessible, and flexible, two storey community space which offers more meeting rooms for the many different groups who want to use our space to build friendship and community;
  • A welcoming and attractive church entrance with an easily accessible office and welcome area;
  • Appropriate, attractive and inclusive toilet facilities;
  • Clean, uncluttered, and attractive spaces with appropriate storage through the building;
  • A bigger, flexible meeting space in both the hall and church, enabling diverse usage all week long;
  • Enhanced kitchen facilities, with different areas for the main hall and other users.

All the above being easily accessible and environmentally friendly, moving towards a zero carbon position, enabling us to keep hire costs low to ensure affordability.

The Hub will offer appropriate space and facilities to build a strong and cohesive community, bringing many advisory and support services to the community, addressing difficulty accessing key services and issues of practical skills, as well as combating loneliness and social isolation.

St. Martin’s Church has been serving the community since the 1960’s. By creating this space, we will offer a positive and inclusive environment in the heart of Old Dean where everyone can meet, learn, socialise and grow together.

It will only take a few moments of your time, and your positive contribution will make a world of difference as your contribution is a hugely important, greatly valued part of the application process.
